Attempt 105, Week 8

“I’ve got some good news and some bad news.”

“What’s the good news?”

“The good news is there’s no bad news.”

“Excellent! What’s the bad news?”

“The bad news is: I lied.”

Okay, okay. The good news is that once again, due to the law of averages, I’m down three tenths of a pound this week. The bad news is I had five days in a row at 216/216.5 then overnight went up to 218. Then over another night, went up to 219. This week’s graph looks like this:

Graph: Attempt 105, Week 8

Week Eight
Starting Weight 224.0
Current Weight 217.2
Change from Last Week -0.3
Lost So Far 6.8
Pounds To Go 18.2

It was my second complete week without the food log, something I desperately need to turn around. I’ve used The Daily Plate for years, and I really, really meant to get back to it this week but I just couldn’t. And by that I don’t mean it was a psychological thing. I mean I actually couldn’t get to the web site due to the eight pound pile of Cheez-Its on my keyboard. But once I eat through those and can get to my browser’s address bar again, I should be back in business.

I’ll leave you this week with a thought. We’re now only four years away from having flying cars be the dominant mode of transportation in Hill Valley, California. That doesn’t leave much time for the car companies to figure out exactly how that’s all going to work. It’s funny how all through the twentieth century, the flying car was the quintessential vehicle of the future: as if the only thing between us and flying to work was a minor technological hurdle. The truth is, however, that I don’t think the species as a whole is ready for it. We have enough trouble with ground-based transportation.

So I’m not holding my breath for flying cars by 2015. On the other hand, it’s entirely possible they’ll make fifteen more Jaws movies between now and then.

YaY! Charlie, a loss is a loss 🙂

I was 12lbs down on Friday, but then Easter began….we have 2 public holidays here plus the weekend plus copious amounts of eggs to get through, so I’m not going to weigh till next friday 😉

I thought you joined My Fitness Pal? I’m still there, and still logging. It’s groovy! 😀 Only 15lbs to go!! That would be nice by the summer………shame the royal wedding is next week, another public holiday *sigh* how does a girl lose weight with all these fun things going on?

Anna 😉

I tried My Fitness Pal while still using The Daily Plate. I used them side by side for about a week to see which one I liked better. There were pros and cons to each, but in the end, already having more than a year’s worth of data at TDP, I just stayed there.

I think that’s a success to get through Easter on the down side!

I’m starting to write stuff down in a book so that I don’t always have to be online – I’m back on baby!

Wait a second, I thought I was your prettier sister?!

I didn’t WI on Saturday, but I am working out a ton this week to show a loss on the scale – so I am still down 11.2 – lots of water and less wine is the key! 😀

Love you Charlie!!

Attempt 105, Week 7

April 18th, 2011

This was the first week where I went the entire seven days without keeping the food log up to date. That’s usually a bad sign, and—sure enough—it was accompanied by my weight going from 217 to 218 to 219. Fortunately, I was able to turn it around before it went too far. I ended up […]

Attempt 105, Week 6

April 11th, 2011

It was a mixed bag this week. First, I took a bag. Then I put a few good days in it. Then I put a few bad days in it. Then I lit it on fire and set it on my arch-enemy’s front porch. I feel better now. Actually, my real week can be summed […]

Attempt 105, Week 5

April 4th, 2011

Time is a funny thing. All measurable signs point to time moving at a constant rate (at least at velocities well under the speed of light). Yet we don’t perceive it that way. As I look at the subject line of this post I think, “Week 5? That’s it? I feel like I’ve been at […]
