Since I accidentally posted today’s post last Thursday, I was fully intending to take a day off today.
That is, until THIS happened:
In case you don’t know what that is, that’s my NaNoWriMo graph. The goal was to write at least 50,000 words in thirty days and I somehow managed to do it with a week to spare. And that included a four day trip out of town and a full day today laying some wood laminate flooring. Oh yeah, and never mind the day job.
So because of all that, I’m seriously tired right now and heading to bed. I’ll fill you in on all the details first Tuesday in December, as promised.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, no, I’m not done. Not even close. But more on that later.

Congrats on getting ahead word wise, although if that recent post scheduling snafu is any indicator you have been working ahead unbeknownst for quite a while (and yeah, any excuse to use “unbeknownst”).
I won’t mind your day job if you don’t….Have a happy long weekend, Charlie.

Congrats! Life got in the way for me, so I’m going to bask vicariously in your victory!

Damn, I am impressed. I’m at about 30k words right now and just not confident I can catch up this weekend. However, it did what it was supposed to do. It got me started. I plan to set aside at least 6 hours per week to write until it’s done, and then take that 6 hours per week to revise until I feel like I’m ready for people to read it.
I said earlier this year I wanted to write a book and damned if I’m going to let not quite finishing in one month stop me! (yes, I was pretty down about this earlier this week, so I’m continuing to convince myself it’s ok)

If you’re having trouble convincing yourself, then allow me to step in: 30k words is 30k more than you had less than four weeks ago. You said it yourself, “it did what it was supposed to.” The rest is just gravy.
Mmmm . . . gravy.

Laminate flooring? 🙂

Yeah, I decided to use up my precious few days off breaking my kneecaps.

Hope the flooring project wasn’t too bad!

you are so brave. I just wrote 1015 words (I’m including the fourteen word title and the parenthesis and the picture I uploaded into the blog) in two months. it took me just under an hour to wrest the words from my blocked brain, then I had some stuffing.
