Well, this was interesting. Just like last week, I’m going to do a day by day, play by play. Let’s start with Sunday. As you can see by these two yellow dots, Week 11 began a full three pounds below Week 10’s starting point:
I thought to myself, if this week follows last week’s pattern, I’ll be back down to my original weight (nine pounds, six ounces) by January. So then Monday rolls around and sure enough, just like last week I went up again. Unlike last week, I went up a lot:
Okay. Fine. No problem. One day isn’t bad. In fact, going up while going down is very natural. Nothing to be concerned with. I’ll be good all day Monday and then Tuesday will be better:
Interesting. Just like last week. I went up and I stayed up. How about Wednesday?
Okay, now this is spooky. But very interesting, from a scientific point of view. You see, last week when I hit this spot, I was a bit dejected and decided to drown my sorrows in something new, a special “Korean-Mexican Fusion” side dish called “Kimchi Fries”:
It starts out as a bed of fries, but is then doused in caramelized Kimchi, bulgogi, cheddar jack and monterey cheese, cilantro, onion, and Korean peppers with a spicy orange sauce. Yes, they’re that good. Last week, after doing that, I dropped two pounds overnight. This week? Not so much. I went up a pound instead.
Apparently the fries are not the magical weight loss solution the world has been looking for. So what. They were good.
By Friday, though, I was right where I was the Friday before, back to 218 and starting to feel a bit disappointed in the whole week:
Then, just like last week, Saturday surprised me with another two-pound overnight drop:
Week 11 | |
Starting Weight | 233.0 |
Current Weight | 217.6 |
Change from Last Week | -1.2 |
Lost So Far | 15.4 |
Pounds To Go | 18.6 |
I’ll take it. Oh, and I nearly forgot! The Train passed its first stop of the season on Sunday: Halloweentown. How’d I do? Awesome. Like I said yesterday, no candy at all. I think that’s only the second or third time I’ve done that since I was 18 months old.
Oh, and one thing I nearly forgot but just haven’t gotten around to yet: last week’s teaser text. Coming soon: how I ate a huge plate of fries, a one-pound serving of fried rice, several fast food meals, and even pizza to reach my all time new low. It would make a great diet best-seller if the answer wasn’t the exact thing people don’t want to hear. This week! I promise.

Wow! Almost as impressive as your carving skills are your weight loss skills!! And no candy?? Amazing!!
I spent the whole day eating yesterday. Don’t know why, we dont have the halloween thing here really, just I fancied eating!!
But ignoring yesterday, I’d lost 1lb and the STONE!! Whooooo hoooooooo!!
So that’s 14lbs lost in total
9lbs since hopping on the train
18lbs to go!!
Rockin!!

Dang it! Why’d this post go up today? This was scheduled for Tuesday this week, due to the Halloween post. I didn’t even see it here until just now (5:30 pm my time!)
Taking it down now and rescheduling for tomorrow (2010/11/02).

Okay, properly reposted on the correct day. Future generations will wonder how the post got three comments the day before it was published.

I made fries last night, I’m pretty sure they didn’t help in any loss this week. In fact my tummy was pretty upset all day. At least I’ve learned about portion control.
Keep up the great work Charlie. Take care and God Bless!!

Really?? I never thought you would eat those fries in a million years! Kimchi? Where is my brother and what have you done with him?
I am just trying to see how many different punctuations I can use at the end of every sentence!
Love, your prettier sister Biz who loves the exclamation point!!!!!!!!

Caramelized kimchi. And they were so spicy hot. Here’s their web site:

Last week I got tofu on them. It was good. And as of this very moment, the truck is parked right outside my window, but I’ve resisted in order to save a few dollars and more than a few calories.

Charlie, I have some questions for you on my blog if you have time to come and answer them.
Those fries still look great. Mine have past and need to stay that way.
Take care and have a blessed evening.
