Let’s Get Rolling Again

post imageLast time began with such promise. Of course, every time begins with such promise. That’s the greatest part about starting out. Nothing bad has happened to you yet. And you hope nothing will.

Of course, seeing as how I am declaring this as Attempt Number 105, I obviously have a long and glorious history of bad things happening to my diets. And though jury may be out on whether this is totally my fault or not, that really doesn’t matter. It’s not about blame. It’s about picking up the pieces and moving on.

Here, then, are the pieces. I started out last August at 233. At one point I made it down to 214. As of my most recent Day One (Monday, February 28, 2011) I had found my way back to 224. So . . . give or take a number of ounces: about half of it’s back.

On the upside, fifty percent is better than one hundred percent. While, sure, I’d rather be picking things up from where I left off, at least this isn’t a complete do-over. So I’m not even going to waste any time on the downside.

As far as the plan? I shall attempt, in every way possible, to choose to not eat fourteen thousand calories a day. That’s it. I’m not good at making plans any more detailed than that. So far it seems to be working. By the time you read this, the first two days of the diet will be behind me. I began with my typical fasting, which helps me break some of those carb addictions by getting blood sugars under control.

In fact, on both Monday and Tuesday I’d only eaten about fifty calories by seven in the evening. At that rate, I should be eighty-five pounds by the end of the month. And if I make it, I promised Oprah I’d appear on her show in a two-piece. Wish me luck!

I have never fasted. I couldn’t make it past 8 am.

Sounds like a good plan. 14,000 calorie days would result in about a 50 lb. gain for the month. Wow, think of all the Cadbury eggs! Yum!

For the chance to see you on Oprah in a two piece, I’m willing to come to your house and lock up your food like they did to poor old Mickey Rooney.

Nothing like a fresh start with baby carrots to get the heart racing!

If my fitnesspal saw that you were fasting and not getting your calories it would yell at you.
Be careful Charlie. You can do this! I have faith in you.
Take care and God Bless!!
