Okay, so remember last week when I was bragging about spending an entire week below 220? Well, apparently the evil weight loss demons got a hold of this information and decided to have some fun with me. It began on Sunday with a slight uptick to 219.5:
That made me very nervous, considering a spent most of the week at (what I thought) was a safe distance from the 220s. Now it was a mere half pound away! I tried to be good all day Sunday so that Monday’s weigh in wouldn’t be bad. And then it happened. Monday showed 220:
Okay. Fine. No problem. One day isn’t bad. In fact, going up while going down is very natural. Nothing to be concerned with. I’ll be good all day Monday and then Tuesday will be better:
Oh no. That’s two days in a row. Fine, fine. It happens. I’ll be VERY good on Tuesday so that when I weigh in on Wednesday, things will be right back to where they were last week. Wednesday:
Crap! That’s three days in a row. What’s going on here? Fed up, I decided to give in. I had a ginormous pile of french fries for lunch. Ha! Take that, evil weight demons!
Ironically, it would appear that ginormous piles of fries do have the ability to dispatch these demons back to the high calorie netherworld. For on Thursday I was greeted by an overnight two pound drop:
(Technical note: apparently I’m having a graphing problem as my 218 weight is displaying just above the 218 line. Don’t worry, it really was 218. In fact, it was 218 for two days in a row:)
By this time I figure I’ve leveled out again and things are back to where they were last week. Which on the one hand is good. But considering I’ve now moved to a weekly moving average for my weight, most of it was spent higher than the previous week. It may be Friday and I may be back to 218, but the week average was (at this point) 219.3. It would take a miracle to recover.
Enter, the miracle:
Saturday morning surprised me with a new low for this time around: 216.5. Wow.
Week 10 | |
Starting Weight | 233.0 |
Current Weight | 218.9 |
Lost So Far | 14.1 |
Pounds To Go | 19.9 |
Granted, this wasn’t enough to create a loss for the week but it was enough to keep my gain at a measly 0.1 pounds. Further, well heck, it’s a new low. Forget averages, I’ll take the 216.5 any day. Well, any day except any day from this point out. Because each day’s new low point is the next day’s high point. I’ll happily greet 216.5 once. I don’t ever want to see it again now.
Coming soon: how I ate a huge plate of fries, a one-pound serving of fried rice, several fast food meals, and even pizza to reach my all time new low. It would make a great diet best-seller if the answer wasn’t the exact thing people don’t want to hear.

Gosh Charlie!
That’s almost just like my graph! But my all time low of 2lbs less only lasted a day, so I’m recording a zero loss this week!
See ya next week!
Keep up the motivation! You’re rockin!!

Well maybe other people don’t want to hear about it, but I for one want to know exactly how you consumed all that food and reached a new all time low. Unless the low you’re talking about isn’t your weight…

Ha! No, I’m still talking about weight. 🙂

Weekly moving average, sounds like an interesting way to smooth out the bumps.

@ Helen
I’m the same. I have a day where I eat and drink what I like (well, not too much salt, but lots of alcohol) and I always weight less the next day. It’s either dehydration or your body breathing a sigh of relief that you’re feeding it again!
Obviously, this can only be done once a week or fortnight!! Don’t do it daily whatever you do…lol

I sure could stand knowing how you did it. We’ll just keep reading and you’ll share.
You are doing so great Charlie. Keep it up. It won’t be long and you’ll be stopping the train at Onederland.
Take care and God Bless!!!

Onederland is just the place where I change trains. The journey doesn’t end there!
